Texas's Top Keller Williams Team Just Made the Biggest Move of the Year
Shane and Clint Neal spent fifteen years at Keller Williams, as of their May 2025 move, building the Neal & Neal Team into San Antonio's largest. Then they took roughly a hundred people to eXp Realty.
The figures and quotes below are from eXp Realty's announcement of the move. The Keller Williams rankings originate from KW's own internal reporting.
What eXp reported
- $338 million in 2024 sales volume
- 914 homes sold
- Roughly 100 team members — about 80 agents plus support staff
- #1 team in San Antonio and #1 Keller Williams team in Texas
- #2 nationally in closed units and #3 in GCI across Keller Williams
The reason they gave
"We've reached a point where we need a platform that can scale with us. eXp gives us the flexibility, innovation, and global reach to take things to the next level — for our agents and for ourselves." — Clint Neal, quoted in eXp Realty's announcement of the move.
"We already had the systems and mentorship in place. But eXp takes everything we're doing and supercharges it." — Shane Neal, in the same release.
Both are recruitment-release quotes. The underlying situation is not in dispute: at 914 closings a year, this team had outgrown what a single market center is built to administer.
914 closings is the number to look at
$338 million across 914 homes is an average sale price around $370,000. High volume, moderate price. For a team like that, per-transaction economics dominate.
Run it through: at eXp, an agent pays 20% of commission until the $16,000 annual cap, then 100% subject to a $25 broker review fee and E&O at $60 per transaction capped at $750 a year. Post-cap the transaction fee is $250 until $5,000 in post-cap fees is paid, then $75. On Bean Group's Mega Team, the eXp cap is $4,000 rather than $16,000.
The correction that has to travel with that number: $4,000 is what you pay eXp. The Bean Group team split is separate, uncapped, and set by ladder level — Associate through to Executive Partner, with the full schedule on the plans page. A comparison that treats $4,000 as all-in against another brokerage's full cap understates your real cost, and you should distrust anyone who runs it that way.
The earnings calculator takes both lines and your own transaction count.
For team leaders
The mechanics of moving a large team without losing agents in transit — licence transfers, pending transactions, database ownership — are covered on the eXp teams page.
