Plymouth on the Pemigewasset, Newfound Lake at Bristol and Hebron, and Squam Lake at Holderness and Ashland.

Understanding the area
This is the western side of the Lakes Region, where the lake country meets the White Mountains. Plymouth sits on the Pemigewasset River at I-93, with Ashland and Holderness just south and east at Squam Lake.
Newfound Lake lies to the southwest, ringed by Bristol, Bridgewater, Hebron and Alexandria. North along the river are Campton, Thornton and Ellsworth, and west along the Baker River are Rumney, Wentworth and Warren, with Danbury, Groton, Hill and New Hampton around the southern edges.
The Pemigewasset River runs south through Thornton, Campton, Plymouth and Ashland toward Franklin. The Baker River joins it at Plymouth after running down through Warren, Wentworth and Rumney. Squam Lake and Little Squam sit east of Ashland, and Newfound Lake lies southwest below Mount Cardigan.
Mount Cardigan rises west of Newfound Lake, and Mount Moosilauke stands above the Baker River valley at Warren and Benton. The Squam Range and the Rattlesnakes overlook Squam Lake at Holderness.
Interstate 93 runs north to south through New Hampton, Ashland, Plymouth, Campton and Thornton. Route 3 parallels it along the river, Route 25 heads west from Plymouth through Rumney and Wentworth toward Warren, and Route 3A follows the eastern shore of Newfound Lake.
