New Hampshire community guide
The I-93 border towns — Salem, Derry, Londonderry and Windham — and the communities around them just north of the Massachusetts line.

Understanding the area
These are the first New Hampshire towns north of the Massachusetts border along Interstate 93. Salem sits on the state line, with Windham, Londonderry and Derry to the north along the highway.
Around them are Atkinson, Chester, Danville, Hampstead, Newton, Plaistow, Raymond and Sandown, reaching east to Route 125 and north toward Route 101.
The market runs along the Massachusetts line from Plaistow and Newton in the east to Salem and Windham in the west, then north to Chester and Raymond. The Exeter River rises in the eastern towns, and the Lamprey River passes through Raymond.
Canobie Lake and Arlington Mill Reservoir lie in Salem and Windham, Cobbetts Pond in Windham, and Big Island Pond spans Atkinson, Derry and Hampstead. The Windham-to-Derry rail trail follows the former Manchester and Lawrence rail line.
Interstate 93 runs north to south through Salem, Windham, Derry and Londonderry. Route 111 crosses east to west through Windham, Hampstead and Danville, Route 102 connects Derry to Raymond and Londonderry, and Route 125 runs north through Plaistow and Kingston.
