Amherst
West of Nashua on Route 101A.
New Hampshire community guide
Nashua on the Massachusetts line, the Everett Turnpike corridor and the Souhegan River towns west toward Milford and Wilton.

Understanding the area
Nashua sits where the Nashua River meets the Merrimack, directly on the Massachusetts border, with its downtown along Main Street.
West of the city the Souhegan valley runs through Merrimack, Amherst and Milford to Wilton and Lyndeborough. Hudson, Litchfield and Pelham lie east of the Merrimack, and Hollis, Brookline and Mont Vernon fill in the western and southern edges of the market.
The Merrimack River runs north to south through the market, separating Nashua and Merrimack on the west bank from Hudson and Litchfield on the east. The Souhegan River joins the Merrimack at Merrimack after running down from Wilton, Milford and Amherst.
The Nashua River corridor runs through the city to its confluence with the Merrimack. West of Nashua, the Souhegan River valley and the hills around Lyndeborough and Mont Vernon form the market's higher ground.
The F.E. Everett Turnpike (Route 3) runs the length of the market and continues into Massachusetts. Route 101A links Nashua to Amherst and Milford, Route 111 crosses east to Hudson and Pelham, and Route 102 carries traffic north toward Londonderry.
