Richard Buffum

Richard Buffum has been helping people buy and sell homes in southern Maine since 1976. Before entering real estate, he taught mathematics at Biddeford High School after graduating from the University of Maine in 1971. He went on to own and operate Group 1 Realty, Inc. in Saco for 29 years before joining Bean Group, where he continues to work from the same Pepperell Square office in Saco where he has been doing business for more than four decades. Buffum is a lifetime member of the Maine Association of Realtors and served for 10 years as a Board Director and Treasurer for the York County Council of Realtors. He is also a Registered Maine Guide and member of the Maine Professional Guides Association, bringing an intimate knowledge of the state's geography and outdoor landscape to his real estate work. His practice is centered in the communities where he grew up and has spent his career—Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Biddeford, and the surrounding southern Maine coast. He works with buyers looking for their first home or a place near the water, sellers navigating investment properties or multi-unit buildings, and families making a change after years in the same home. He is based in Biddeford and serves buyers and sellers throughout York County and southern Maine.
